Planning for the ‘Big Day’ is all part of preparing for the perfect wedding. Once you have chosen the venue there will not only be the food, drinks, music and flowers to choose but also how you wish to decorate the reception room or marquee. With so many decisions to make for one day, the simplest approach is to select a theme or colour scheme. If you are using a wedding planner or event organiser then they will help you by showing you a portfolio of photographs to help you through the decision making process. On the other hand, if you are decorating the venue yourself here are some inspirational ideas for combinations of paper lanterns which are not only eye-catching but simple to achieve – and, of course, we will provide you with all the instructions.

Fortunately marquees are a far cry from the rather soulless overgrown tents of yesteryear. Nowadays they have beautifully shaped roofs and gorgeous linings with areas of draped fabric in a wide range of colours. If your reception is to be held in a large hall, decorating the ceiling will add the WOW factor and tie all your colours together.

For a spring wedding why not choose a combination of complementary colours which can be picked up in the choice of flowers. Yellow, Lavender and Buttermilk paper lanterns come in three sizes 8in, 12 in and 16in in diameter and can be hung at different heights to create a stunning display.
