Decorate your party with Halloween Paper Lanterns

20/10/2015 Celebrations,

It’s already that time of year, when we decorate our homes with scary Halloween decorations. Here are our fantastic paper lanterns – witches, pumpkins and bats. Find the whole collection here: http://www.paperlanternsuk.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=65 The witches and bats are 12” in diameter and the pumpkin is 16”. Of course you can use them again and again and if the weather is good on the night hang a few up outside lit up with our battery operated LED lights.

If you are planning to have a Halloween party here are some simple and spooky games you can use to keep the children happy during your Halloween party.

What's the time, Mrs Witch? - This a simple variation of “what’s the time Mr Wolf”. The first person to be “Mrs Witch” needs to wear a witch’s hat, hold the broom and face the opposite way to the other players at one end of the room.  The rest of the players stand at the other end, and ask the question “What’s the time Mrs Witch?” and the witch replies. The other players take the matching number of steps in the direction of the witch, this is then repeated until the players get close to the witch, and the witch can then shout out “midnight” and chase the players. Whoever the witch catches first is out of the game.  Allow the players to take it in turn at being the witch.

Monster Freeze Dance - Put on the music and let the children show off their silliest monster dance moves—but they must stand stock still when the music is turned off!

Snap Apple - Let the children try to "snap" a bite from an apple hanging on a string. You'll need apples with stems—tie the string to the stem, then hold it just above the children’s head.

Relay Races - There are lots of silly ways for children to get from the starting line to the finish! Try having them stagger like zombies, fly on broomsticks like witches, or hop like toads.

What’s in the Bowl - Fill a number of bowls with some particularly slimy contents like tinned spaghetti, cold rice pudding, tinned tomatoes and get the curious youngsters to have a guess at what’s inside while blindfolded.

Mummy Wrapping - Split the children into two groups – give each group a toilet roll and ask them to wrap up one of their team members like a mummy. The first to do it wins.

Sleeping Monsters - A dead easy take on the classic party game and a great one to calm the children down if they’re getting a little over excited! Everyone lies down on the floor. When somebody moves they’re out until only one player remains.

Pin the Wart on the Witch - A Halloween version of the party favourite Pin the Tail on the Donkey.

Happy Halloween to you…Hope it is a “spook”tacular one! Enjoy the yummy treats!
